Chairman Fox gave support for Fort Berthold veterans to attend Iwo Jima flag raising in Sacaton, Az. The iconic photograph of five United States Marines and a United States Navy Corpsman as they raised the American flag was a sign of the end of World War II. Ira H. Hayes, a member of the Gila River Indian Community, was one of the men who raised the flag that day. Sacaton is a Gila River government center.
